- All Authors on Call® contracts are tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual school, school district, conference, teacher in-service, classroom visit, etc.
- We are happy to partner with institutions of higher educations so that CEUs can be offered for our professional development series.
- Each venue (e.g. school district, university, conference, etc.) is responsible for all applicable connection and bridging fees.
- Please use our database to find each author's books and to order them at a discount from Mackin Educational Resources.
- Fees below reflect our SPECIAL INTRODUCTORY RATES and are subject to change without notice. Prices of packages will vary depending upon the number of participants. The listings below can give you a rough estimate of the costs.

A School-Wide Learning Experience |
|
|
The following example shows one of the ways that we collaborate with a K-5 school of 500 students. Your own collaboration with Authors on Call will be modified to meet your school’s needs. We are also available to work with grades 6-12.
- Your school selects one title by each of our nine authors that fits into your scope and sequence in science, social studies, and math. The authors can help with the selection. They can also show how the selected books fit into the scope and sequence of your language arts program. Just send us your scope and sequence on a spread sheet and we will help with the selection process.
- Your school orders 100 books of each title, one from each author—900 books in all. Your selections provide sets of books for at least 3 classrooms.
- Your school then assigns each set of books to the teachers whose students will be reading them.
- Shortly before teaching lessons related to a given book, the teachers meet with its author for a one-hour interactive videoconference (ivc). They will brain-storm about classroom strategies for teaching that particular book and will also discuss tips about writing and doing research. Many of our books have strong tie-ins to several subjects at once and can be used in a multidisciplinary fashion.
- INK establishes a wiki for the project with your school. Each author has a page on the wiki to answer teachers' questions on an on-going basis for the duration of the use of the book. In addition, teachers can use the wiki to blog about their experiences, and our consultants will also weigh in.
- After the students finish studying the book, they meet face-to-face with the author via ivc for questions and answers. In order to keep the groups small, the sessions can be broken up into three 20 minute periods or four 15 minute periods.
In addition, the teachers attend two ivc’s, onewith Dr. Myra Zarnowski, a professor of children’s literature at Queens College, CUNY and the author of Making Sense of History, and the other with literacy advocate Angela Maiers, the author of The Passion-Driven Classroom. |

panel discussions,

One or more Authors on Call® authors can speak at your conference or meeting via live interactive videoconferencing as part of a panel discussion. (Ask for our list of great suggestions from our panelists.)
$1000 per author for one hour (up to 4 authors for $4,000). Includes Q & A sessions
LIVE ONSITE: Live on-site personal appearance by Authors on Call® authors for panel discussion, major speech, or keynote address:
$2000 + expenses per author per day.
